To develop the Aspen3 the Gradient test team put the protos through their paces in a wide range of flying conditions: easy soaring, soaring in strong winds, weak to moderate thermals as well as extremely strong thermals. Gradient's satisfaction with the final design was checked in De Aar South Africa...Gradient's favourite testing ground when winter grips central Europe.

Aspen3 offers maximum comfort to sport and recreational pilots alike and after very positive feedback on the Aspen2 Gradient's target was to keep the safety potential of the Aspen2 the same but to increase the overall performance of the Aspen3 and introduce new feature-details of design and construction. Gradient Aspen3 is a very stable glider placing well inside the EN C category. Predictable behaviour and stable accelerated flight makes Aspen3 a very interesting solution for a really wide range of XC pilots. Gradient has given a high priority to details in the new Aspen3, things like thin risers, light Ronstan pulleys, smaller Peguet carabiners, brake swivels, adhesive rib reinforcements etc... Gradient continues to concentrate on optimizing material-combinations, which together with advanced design makes Aspen3 a light glider increasing its usage potential in several ways. Compared to the Aspen2 the weight of the glider is 0.2kg less.
