NOVA TRITON (LTF 2-3 / EN D)

·

Our high performance glider, the Nova TRITON, is certified in the sizes 20, 22 and 24 and it's already flying in various sites. (The TRITON 18 is on the way.)

NOVA TRITON (LTF 2-3/EN D)

The wing fully meets the pilots expectations. Especially at high speed the TRITON outclasses its predecessor, the TYCOON in terms of glide ratio.

In turbulent conditions the difference between those wings gets even bigger, and despite the considerably increased maximum speed, the Nova TRITON glides very stable and well damped through bumpy air. But actually it is the handling characteristic that makes the most obvious difference compared with every other high performance glider we have built so far. That's why it's surprisingly easy to use the performance potential of this wing.

The handling behaviour could be described as very dynamic and as playful: Even in very rough conditions it is easy to move the wing exactly how the pilot wants it to fly. This leads to super efficient climbing in strong thermals, as it is easy to center the thermals core.

Due to the chosen airfoil and the high wing loading, the TRITON is very collapse resistant - especially at high speed. If the wing collapses, the behaviour is well controllable for an experienced pilot. That is why we didn't have any problems to pass the certification without any (performance reducing) trim changes. The TRITON 24 even passed with EN C.

The combination of performance, handling, and safety offers new possibilities for ambitious XC pilots. Further more, the TRITON offers a playful flying experience, which we could not nearly achieve in this glider segment up to now.

Of course the only impression that really counts is a test flight at your NOVA dealer. :-)
