Andy Aebi wins the World Cup for 2008 and Stefan Schmoker finishes third. This means that an incredible series of ADVANCE successes continues into a fourth year.
ADVANCE competition pilots Andy Aeby and Stefan Schmocker placed first and third respectively in the final rankings of the 2008 Paragliding World Cup, and in so doing seamlessly add to Chrigel Maurer’s three titles (2005-2007). In addition, Stefan Schmocker won the Castelo Competition - his first World Cup Victory. This continued success also puts ADVANCE designer Thomas Ripplinger into the limelight, as well as the whole production team. Quite simply such good results would be impossible without the tireless efforts of all concerned!
The World Cup finale in Castelo, Brazil, was lucky with the weather, and it was possible to fly seven tasks. Andy, who arrived in Brazil in pole position, was able to maintain his advantage and therefore has won the PWC overall title for the first time (having finished third last year). Stefan Schmoker was also able to capitalise on the strong position he had already established in previous rounds, finishing in third place overall after Brazil. Other ADVANCE pilots Heli Eichholzer (AT) 7th, Jeremie Lager (F) 14th, Michael Sigel (CH) 17th and Orlin Dimov (BG), 30th, round off our small but fantastic ADVANCE Pro-Comp Teams’ great results.
